The much-awaited online sales of Canteen Stores Department (CSD) Armed Forces Discount (AFD) items have finally commenced through their newly launched online store. This digital platform allows customers to conveniently browse and purchase a wide range of products and services exclusively available to armed forces personnel and their families. With a few simple clicks, shoppers can now access a diverse selection of goods, including electronics, appliances, automobiles, and even travel packages. This online initiative aims to provide an enhanced shopping experience, ensuring that military personnel stationed across the country have easy access to essential items and enjoy the benefits of AFD discounts from the comfort of their own homes.

The Canteen Stores Department (CSD) is pleased to announce the introduction of online sales for AFD Items through our official Online Shopping Website Portal. To access the website, please visit www.afd.csdindia.gov.in.
We are now offering the convenience of online purchasing for AFD (Against Firm Demand) Items, including vehicles such as cars, bikes, and scooters, as well as household appliances like air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines. This service is available to all Smart Card Holders.
In accordance with the internal order from the Ministry of Defence (Army) dated 4 December 2020, the letter emphasized the need for automation within CSD and improving the user experience for our beneficiaries. To achieve this goal, we have developed a website that allows beneficiaries to complete documentation and make payments online.
Registering on our website is a simple process. To assist you, we have provided a detailed step-by-step pictorial guide that will help you navigate the registration and login procedures for your first visit.
CSD Registration Process Step-by-Step
Step 1: Open the CSD AFD Online website with the direct link given below:
Step 2: Click on the “SHOP NOW” button shown on the Login web page.
Step 3: Click on “Not a member yet? Register Now”. This option enables new users to register on the website. Before you start registration, make sure to keep the following things with you:
1. Grocery/ Canteen card
2. Pan card
3. Mobile number for OTP verification
Step 4: Provide a visual representation of the registration form. Ensure that the fields for Name, Card ID, and Chip number are accurately reflected as they appear on the Grocery card/Canteen card. The mobile number will undergo verification through OTP (One-Time Password). Upon entering the number, select “Send OTP”.
If a new user attempts to register with a username, grocery card, or PAN number that already exists, an error screen will be presented. It is imperative that no two users have the same details such as Username or e-mail. Should the error persist, the user may reach out to the help desk for assistance.
If the “Date of enrolment/commissioning” is less than 5 years ago, users will not have the privilege to purchase any products. Once all the required fields in the form are completed, press “Submit”. If the form is filled out correctly, the user will receive a notification similar to the one displayed in the accompanying image. However, immediate login access will not be granted. The administrator will verify the submitted details and then provide access accordingly. Upon form submission, the user will receive an email resembling the example shown below.
Once the registration has been approved, the user will be notified via email, as demonstrated in the image provided.
Step 5: After logging in, users will be prompted to enter OTP sent on their phones.
The Canteen Stores Department (CSD) has released several manuals in PDF format to assist CSD AFD beneficiaries with the login, registration, and purchase processes. Additionally, there are instructional videos available to aid in understanding the one-time registration procedures using personal mobile numbers and email IDs. If you need to change or retain (in Incase of loss) your password, follow the simple steps as follows:
- Step One: Go to the official website https://afd.csdindia.gov.in/
- Step Two: Click the ‘Show Now’ button
- Step Three: Click the ‘Lost your password?’ link at the bottom of the login box
- Step Four: Enter your registered email address
- Step Five: Check your email and click the link to reset your password
- Step Six: Enter a new password two times and click Save the button.
