The Canteen Stores Department (CSD) has created an efficient online platform over the past two years, specifically for Armed Forces Personnel and Ex-Servicemen to purchase AFD-I (Against Firm Demand) items. This platform, known as the CSD AFD online portal (afd.csdindia.gov.in), bears similarities to popular private online stores such as Reliance Online Digital and Croma Online Store. However, there are two notable differences between the private portals and the CSD AFD portal.
Firstly, the prices of items on the CSD AFD portal are lower than those in the open market. Secondly, customers must obtain a Local Supply Order (LS Order) from their nearest Unit Run Canteen (URC) in order to complete their purchase.
